Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in almost all areas of life, for example in autonomous driving cars, in medicine through algorithms that recognize types of cancer in a fraction of a second, or in retail through the dynamic adjustment of prices depending on the customer. Accordingly, what interests people today is the question: How will we live tomorrow? What will artificial intelligence (AI) do to us? Or we with it? In a theme week from November 15 to 19, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is offering citizens the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the topic of AI and talk to experts.
It starts on Monday, November 15, with one of three AI film evenings. Starting at 5:30 p.m., a classic film will be shown that is a science fiction adventure about the relationship and merging of humans and machines. How has this evolved through time and space? What kind of society do we want to live in in the future? Two more film evenings will follow on Tuesday, November 16, starting at 6 p.m. and on Friday, November 19, starting at 4:45 p.m. at THI (Building G011). In addition, there will be a quiz on all three evenings, which will ask for knowledge about the film world and AI. There will be cinema vouchers to be won.

Also embedded in the AI Science Week will be the transfer.talk, where guests from science, business and politics will this time discuss the topic "Robots in our everyday lives - is AI conquering our lives?". The online format starts at 5:30 p.m. and anyone can join in the discussion at https://youtu.be/q5HRfhsGSRo.
The highlight of Science Week is Transfer Day on Friday, November 19, from 2 to 6 p.m.
THI's campus meadow will become a central staging area with mobile labs and food and drinks. From there, interested parties can then, for example, set off on laboratory tours and gain insight into the world of robotics or also learn about the techniques, methods and possible uses of VR glasses in the Virtual Reality and Simulation laboratory. At 3 p.m., a tour of the CARISSMA research center for vehicle safety will also start.
In addition to small exhibitions and a painting competition for children, the day will be complemented by around ten workshops and lectures, all of which will shed light on artificial intelligence from different perspectives. Among other things, the topics will be "AI in retail. How China is expanding its pioneering role" or "Artificial intelligence for vehicle cybersecurity". Those who wish can play an "Activity"-style game against an artificial intelligence in the PC pool or program neural networks themselves.
The day ends at 7 p.m. with a discussion panel. Film and media expert Thomas Zandegiacomo Del Bel will speak on AI and science fiction in the THI auditorium.
Programm and Registration Transfer Day
The International AI Science Week is organized by "Humans on the Move" and basi.net, a THI funding project that aims to build bridges between different countries and regions as well as between science and society. Together, all participants deal with AI from different perspectives and consider the topic together with the cooperation partners in a regional as well as - together with the host country Brazil - in an international context. "Humans on the Move" is a joint project of Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. With partners from business, politics and civil society, the universities are building a regional network for knowledge exchange in the fields of innovative mobility, digital transformation, sustainable development and civic engagement. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the state of Bavaria as part of the "Innovative University" funding initiative with approximately 15 million euros over five years.
The AImotion International Network Conference will also be held as part of the Science Week. It is aimed at national and international scientists and aims to bring them together with representatives from industry to advance new projects and innovations related to artificial intelligence.
