Ingolstadt, 02.06.2021 The Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is continuing its successful lecture series "Energy - Environment - Sustainability" in June. Experts from scientific and economic practice will inform about current topics and developments.
The target audience is students, schoolchildren, environmental groups, politicians and other interested persons. The 45-minute lectures take place online via Zoom on Wednesdays at 6.30 pm. The access codes can be found at www.thi.de/go/ringvorlesung-umwelt, no registration in advance necessary.
The two new lectures in the ongoing month will cover the following topics:
On Wednesday, 9 June 2021, Prof. Dr. Peter Bayer and Christoph Bott from the Institute for Geosciences and Geography at the University of Halle-Wittenberg will talk about "Innovation for the Heat Turnaround - Opening the Door to the Fifth Generation of Large-Scale Heat Storage". Seasonal heat storage systems are considered important elements of a more environmentally friendly energy economy and compensate for highly fluctuating output from e.g. solar or wind power plants. In the lecture, among other things, the development potentials as well as solution approaches will be explained using the example of the IN Campus in Ingolstadt.
On Wednesday, 16 June 2021, Domenic Becker and Christian Barbu, Engineering Service Department, ASAP Engineering GmbH, Gaimersheim, will speak about "Green Mobility - technology-open, sustainable mobility of tomorrow". CO2 reduction in the mobility sector is more topical than ever. In order to achieve the climate targets in Germany as well as in the EU, the consideration of technology-open and sustainable mobility solutions in the passenger car sector is indispensable.
Afterwards, the speakers will be available for discussion. The event is organised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Bschorer, head of the "Energiesysteme und Erneuerbare Energien" course (www.thi.de/go/eee) at the Fakultät Maschinenbau.
